Here are two drawings of friends. I wanted to get back to working at a larger scale with charcoal and pastel. I also wanted to work more traditionally after producing the smaller collage portraits.
Moving forward with the portraits. I've started incorporating pieces of cut art paper. The faces are also becoming more "cartoony." I'm very excited about how they are developing!
Here are the first four portraits of a series I am working on. I'm producing these images from imagination. I do have specific characteristics of friends in mind, though, which inform the paintings. They were made with acrylics painted over markers or colored pencils. I also incorporate Wite-Out from time to time.
