The above pieces are more work from my Spanish Civil War book project. I'm nearing the end of the image making part of the process. Next, I'll be putting a book together for a show in September.
The above art work is from a short sequential story I produced for Reading with Pictures. The story is being published in their educational comics anthology. For more information about RwP, visit their website at www.readingwithpictures.org.
These images are photographs of large pastel pieces that I am producing for a book. The subject of the book is the story of my great, great uncle's experiences as a prisoner during the Spanish Civil War. The book will be featured in a show next fall. More to come soon!
Here are three sketches produced during my Drawing Class. This course is mostly dedicated to drawing on location (which I love). These drawings were produced at the Chelsea Market and at the High Line. Both places are very unique.
I enjoy being creative. I use a variety of media including pastel, pen and ink, and acrylics. My interests include illustration, abstract art, and sequential art. Please visit my website at www.phillipbowles.com
